Two Fashion Social Networks for today

I was reading an article on Whitney Thompson - the girl considered America’s Next Top Model and I asked myself:

- Are there any fashion social networks on the Internet? And, if so, which ones are the best of the best?

Well, after a bit of research and an e-mail send to a friend who’s addicted to social networks, I came up with two names.

So, behold: two fashion social networks for your consideration:

A. ShareYourLook - part of the large group of BETA fashion social networks

ShareYourLook labels itself as a community for “fashion addicts, trendsetters, shoppers and designers” and it’s rumored to be founded by fashion journalist Melissa Ceria. So they do know their materials, if you catch my drift

Some of the features included in ShareYourLook are:

- the ability to maintain a profile pages with a personal photo

- the ability to gather friends and send them notifications

- the advantage of being able to subscribe to another ShareYourLook member.

You can also run a blog there and, why not, share your look. That means that you can parade all day long there because, after all, ShareYourLook is a fashion social network, and not a regular one I might add.

B. StyleMob - Also part of the large group of BETA fashion social networks

Heh. StyleMob is also part of the fashion social networks - and who isn’t, by the way? Everyone in web 2.0 are in BETA stage.

Skipping that, I have to admit that I do like StyleMob. It’s a cool fashion social network because it allows people to connect with brands.

Moreover, it allows brands and manufacturers to connect with people interested in style, fashion, and taste.

On StyleMob, you get a personal page, a fan list, a watchlist, and a LookBook.

The LookBook is a section of the site where you add photos of yourself and tag the clothes that you wear in those images. Afterwards, StyleMob friends or users add comments about your wear, to your photos. That’s pretty cool, isn’t it?

So there you have it, folks: two fashion social networks for today:

ShareYourLook and StyleMob.
